Hello friends and welcome to Instanters.

In this article, I will be leading you through a step-by-step guide on how to create a WhatsApp group.

We will further show you how to use your Whatsapp as a quick, handy and easily accessible personal digital diary and online archive.

As a social media user, it is no surprising that you check your WhatsApp page countless times a day.

WhatsApp is used in more than 180 countries all over the world with more than 2 billion users. Yes you heard that right, a quarter of the world's population!

Reports have it that users spend roughly 37 minutes daily on the app. That is a handful amount of time. Right?

Thanks to the user-friendly configuration of the app and the more available and cheaper internet service options.

Also, WhatsApp can be used in several languages.

You can wake up in the middle of the night and guess what, the first thing you want to check is your WhatsApp.

No log in details request and it is by far one of the easiest apps out there to navigate through in seconds in my opinion.

But what if I told you how you can simply turn your app friend, WhatsApp, into a personal lifetime diary?

Let's dive in right away.

You are in a cab and immediately sighted a store where you could buy something you have been searching for a long time.

You don't want to forget the name and location/address of the store. So you need to write those somewhere.

You belong to a WhatsApp group where tons of information (text, images, pdfs, sounds/voices, link to websites, documents) are posted daily. So you need to save some for record purposes, or just to keep the ones that are useful to you.

You may need to keep your multiple usernames and passwords recorded somewhere you can access quick and easy in case you forgot one.

You are in a meeting but you haven't your pen and paper with you to take notes.

All of these and many more are what makes WhatsApp a handy tool to deal with these purposes.

The following steps will help you create as many personal archives as possible with your WhatsApp.

The first 10 steps teach you how to create a WhatsApp group if you didn't learn that before. The next 7 steps show you how to turn a WhatsApp group to your personal online diary or digital archive.

1. Open WhatsApp app.

2. Go to the top-right corner of your WhatsApp page.

3. Tap the 3 vertical dots.

4. Tap 'New group'.

5. Choose a WhatsApp friend/contact (e.g. a friend named XYZ).

6. Click the continue button at the bottom of the page to move to the next step.

7. You should see something like this:

8. Use a name or title for your new group. I will use "Daily Tasks" as my new group's title.

9. Tap the tick mark button at the bottom of the page.

10. A new group is successfully created with two members only; you and your friend. Open the chat page of the new group. You should see something like this:

At this stage, if your objective is only to create a WhatsApp group, you have it right there. You can begin group activities and add more members easily. You can also a group icon or image.

If your objective is to have your personal online record tool, online bank, diary or documents archive using your WhatsApp, proceed to the subsequent steps below.

11. Tap the new group's title where it says 'tap here for group info' at the top of the new group's chat page.

12. Scroll down to the bottom of the group info page.

13. Tap the name of the WhatsApp friend you added earlier.

14. Click 'Remove....' to remove your friend. In my case I will remove 'XYZ'.

15. Click 'OK'.

16. Wait a moment while it performs the removal.

17. Go back to the group page and you should see something like this.

Now you have your personal online diary ready and you can keep inside it your notes, memories, list of tasks, things you plan to do, places you plan to visit, images, documents, copied texts, audios, etc.

The good thing is everything you forward to, write in, or attach within it are only seen by you and can be kept there for as long as you want.

You need not fear losing a piece of important information you got online  just because you are without a pen and paper.

Once you see something on a group you belong to that may be useful, you need to forward it straight to your personal WhatsApp 'banks'.

You can create several diaries or archives for different purposes and name them 'Homework', 'Assignments', 'Articles On My Reading List', 'Expenses', 'Scholarships', 'My Schedules', 'Study Plan', or just anything.

Note: This trick cannot be done on WhatsApp web. It can only be done using your WhatsApp app on a smartphone, tablet and so on.

You can do this also with existing WhatsApp groups where every member left leaving you only on the group.

Just be sure you are the only member remaining on the group so as not to be keeping your secrets in the eye of a stranger left with you on the same group.

You can change the group name/title later if you want.

Lastly, add a group icon or image to make each archive look more appealing and lively.

Enjoy!
